Monday, March 15, 2010 @ 11:57 PM slacking now after rushing through my lab report. felt so dumb cos i initially tot i only wrote 1.5 pages for my report when the max is 3 pages. when u only read half of the limited no. of pages, u noe u haven written enough. so i was panicking the whole day as i didn know wat i can write for my report. ended up i didn change the font size and font. after i changed it, i actually wrote slightly more than 2 pages. totally relieved as the date time is 15 march 2010, 2359. so had lab today. its the most disgusting lab i ever had apart from the biodiversity lab where we have to look at preserved animals. or mayb tts just the stinkiest lab? or was it the anatomy lab? oh wells. we had to look at FLIES, drosophila actually, under the microscope. was quite fascinated at first cos thrs this kit called the FLY NAP KIT tt actually anaesthesize the flies. but it really stinks! we was wondering if we will be anaesthesized as well if we smell too much of it. haha!  so we had to look at the wild type and different mutants of the flies. good thing we only have to anaesthesize the wild type on our own.   the flying flies inside. at the bottom of the tube is the nutrient medium for the flies. it actually contains banana and yeast! yucks!  dip the wand into the fly nap solution and than into the tube. the flies will go to slp slowly.  den we had to take them out and put them under the microscope. if they are not completely aslp, u can actually see them moving. feels scary. it feels like they are gg to wake up anytime and fly around! some of the flies were actually laying eggs when they were anaethesized.   taken through the microscope!
